Global Grind

If you thought proponents of birth control were taking a back seat in the wake of a Supreme Court ruling that allows for-profit companies to refuse coverage of contraception for religious reasons, think again.

In the most creative, delightfully shady and crafty way, women who are deemed less human than corporations (and their supporters) have taken to Hobby Lobby’s own crafting material to send a clear message.

Get the fuck out of our wombs.

It started with the picture above, one simple message designed with letter blocks at a Hobby Lobby Maryland branch by Policy Mic’s Adam Peck.

“It just seemed like a perfect opportunity to stage a kind of a silent protest, and the chance to use Hobby Lobby’s own products to do it was just too serendipitous to pass up,” Peck told Policy Mic. “I certainly don’t want to encourage other people to ransack their local…

Miami Marlins Looking For 11th Straight Win

#GoMarlins! Let’s take a break from the insistent #LebronWatch! He’ll make a decision when HE IS ready! Let’s move it, people!

CBS Miami

MIAMI (AP) — Henderson Alvarez’s outstanding stretch has already put him in the Miami Marlins’ record books, but it’s not sending him to the All-Star game.

The Marlins are looking for an 11th straight win with Alvarez on the mound as he attempts to continue his dominance of the New York Mets in the opener of a three-game set at Citi Field on Friday night.

Alvarez (6-3, 2.27 ERA) is fourth in the NL in ERA, including a 1.04 mark over his last nine outings while going 4-0. His last 10 starts have ended in Marlins victories, the longest active streak in the majors and a team record.

“I’ve always wanted to be a leader,” the 24-year-old right-hander said through a translator. “I’m just focused on being a pitcher.”

Despite his tremendous run, Alvarez was snubbed for his first All-Star appearance. However, he’ll likely be an option as a replacement…

George Clooney Rejects ‘Daily Mail’s Apology In Second Op-Ed

Get it, George! Protect your woman and your future mother-in-law!

94.7 The WAVE

George Clooney is not backing down in his stand against The Daily Mail, even though the publication has apologized. George is still mad and rejects their apology after the newspaper published what he says is false information about his future in-laws and their religion.

In a second op-ed on USA Today, George said “The Mail knew the story in question was false and printed it anyway.”

Earlier this week, the tabloid wrote an article saying George’s wife fiancee’s mom was opposed to their pending marriage based on her religion. In his first op-ed on USA Today, George slams those reports calling them completely fabricated and criminal, which prompted an apology from The Mail.

But George is saying no thanks to their apology. He writes, “There is one constant when a person or company is caught doing something wrong. The coverup is always worse.”

He noted that managing editor…

YESSSSS!

TIME

Kelly Ripa appeared on NBC’s Tonight Show on Wednesday and challenged Jimmy Fallon in answering questions about pop culture—while sitting under water balloons and wearing pointed hats.

The game was simple: Whoever answered the most questions wrong would get a giant water balloon popped over their heads.

“This is terrible,” Ripa said at one point during the game. “You’re supposed to ask me stuff I know!”
