NORFOLK, Va. (CBSDC/AP) — A Norfolk teenager accused of killing his parents because they took his iPod away has pleaded guilty to two second-degree murder counts.
Sixteen-year-old Vincent T. Parker is scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 18.
Prosecutors say Parker, who entered his plea Wednesday, told investigators that he got mad at his parents for taking away his iPod.
“I just remember getting mad,” Parker told investigators, according to WTKR-TV. “It’s all from my dad. All this stuff like my dad taking away my iPod and stuff.”
Allen Taylor, grandfather of the honor roll student, doesn’t know why his grandson snapped.
“He is a smart young man,” Taylor told WTKR. “He is smart in school. I don’t know what happened.”
Taylor added that he has forgiven his grandson.
