Marlon Byrd: With Their Chemistry, Mets Can Win 90 Games — Or More

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) —  Marlon Byrd believes in the Mets.

And he doesn’t even play for them anymore.

The right fielder — who was excellent for the Amazin’s in 2013 before being traded to the Pirates — signed a two-year, $16 million contract with the Phillies in November.

The 36-year-old veteran remains close with several Mets players, and he worked out with Lucas Duda and Josh Satin in the offseason.

Byrd still has a tremendous amount of respect for the organization that took a flyer on him last year and paved the way for his lucrative deal with Philadelphia. And unlike many, he’s not at all surprised that the Mets are off to a hot start and winning games.

Miami Tops List Of Most Pampered Pet Cities In The U.S.

MIAMI (CBSMiami) — Congratulations Miami! Amazon has unveiled a list of the top 20 U.S. cities where residents pamper their pets the most and Miami is in the No. 1 spot.

The list was compiled by comparing pet item sales in 2013 on a per capita basis among cities with more than 400,000 residents.

Miami ranked highest for pampering their dogs, cats, birds, aquatic animals and reptiles.The residents of Miami also purchased the most toys overall for their pets, and spoiled their dogs and cats by buying the most apparel and accessories, grooming products and health supplies. In addition, Miami locals spent more money on pet items in 2013 than any other city.
